Gia & Miso’s 7.21.24 Olympians of Old Litter

AVAILABILITY - Lewis and Nadia

Spread the word; Lewis and Nadia are still available! Knowing the two puppies intimately, it is shocking that they are not homed yet. Maybe if we - ok, I - was better at doing social media on a regular basis, these two Australian Labradoodle puppies would be snatched up by now. They are both so easy to have around that as the days go by, it is hard thinking of parting with them at all. Lewis is going to be less than 20 pounds as an adult and is the cutest compact little snuggler. Nadia will be around 20 pounds as an adult and brings so much joy to everything that she does - cuddling included. They are both smarties with crate and potty training. As older puppies, they are a steal as far as having the extra training under way. They also have their second set of shots with only one more visit left. Golly, we love Lewis and Nadia to pieces and know the perfect families will too!

Gia & Miso’s Olympians - Adoption days!

When the puppies go home to families who we know will treat them like family and care about their training in a loving way, we could not be happier here at Ever After Labradoodles. Spitz, Oscar, and Flo Jo hit jackpot with these folks from the Seattle area and all the way down to Texas. In addition, the friendships made along the way always make the extra work we put into our care of the puppies worth every minute. Now Lewis and Nadia need lovely families too!

Gia & Miso’s Olympians - Gia Goes Home

If Ever After family members could have talked Gia’s guardian family into letting her stay with us forever, we would have - for sure! We often repeat Pat Hastings and say, “There’s no such thing as a perfect dog.” However, have any of you met Gia? Her five puppies had the best mom. Until next time, Gia! We miss you!

Gia & Miso’s Olympians - Week 8

Evalutation week proved that these five were indeed a “wow” litter. All of the babies gave us perfect stacks with beautiful, solid structures to match their therapy temperaments. Ever After has really been spoiled by Gia & Miso’s extraordinary kiddos. They make Ever After feel like bigtime pros;)

Gia & Miso’s Olympians - Week 7

Before bath, and after bath - what fluffy puppies! Mini grooms are important between professional groomings. For Ever After, a mini groom means eyes, paw pads, and private parts are trimmed plus nails clipped before brush/bath/dry/brush. The puppies were not big fans of bath and dryer but were quiet and accepting of the event. Crate training is going well. Puppies just transitioned to naps in individual closed crates. They are all quick studies; including their potty training in which the pups are being pretty consistent in going outside to the artificial turf. The weights listed are the 7-week birthday poundage for each. Such a darling variety pack!

Gia & Miso’s Olympians - Weeks 5 & 6

Here is where things got really busy. Puppies moved from their extended whelping play area where they were learning potty trays and water/porridge feedings to a big wide world! They have three large play areas (two outdoor) for experiencing the joys of space, smells, textures, sounds, etc. at a whole new level. With teeth coming in, porridge was changed to soft kibble and Gia is gently helping her puppies learn bite inhibition as they wind down their nursing with her. Crate training, outdoor potty, and starting word commands became a focus. A rotating schedule with the popular “snuggle buggle time” is strictly adhered to for ease of training and helping the puppies to fully trust during the crate-training process. Everything is taught with positivity and the utmost of love for your sweeties. Gia enjoys hanging around for it all - no matter the time of day.

 Gia & Miso’s Olympians - Week 4

Week 4 is a show-off week where litter trays become a thing, and porridge plus water become an accepted second choice to Mom’s milk. Ever After steps up exposure to sounds, textures, people, and experiences (car rides, nursing home noises, etc.). Everything is done with the litters’ health of utmost priority. Visitors wear clean clothes, remove shoes, wear protective socks, and wash hands before puppy exposure is allowed. Diseases like parvo keep us from doing community “events” with the puppies; but we love socializing them in areas where we can control the risk factors. Our favorite stop this week was at Grandma’s home for her 96th birthday! She LOVES puppy visits! These sweet-tempered five were the perfect guests.

 Gia & Miso’s Olympians - Week 3

Week 3 is known for eyes & ears completely open, tiny growls & yippy barks, adorable waddles, and porridge introduction. Clearly these five were perfectly happy getting plump on Momma’s milk alone. There was a unanimous showdown with clear opposition to porridge starting so soon. We ended up letting the pups enjoy their baby-milk-stage a bit longer. Gia seemed fine with it too as she loves spending time with her babies.

 Gia & Miso’s Olympians - Week 2

The prime focus was still nursing and sleeping on an exponential loop, BUT firsts like eyes opening (ears shortly after), nails trimmed, and even a few attempted wobbly-legged milk bar approaches made for exciting times around our Ever After home. Puppy breath and soft snuggles at our necks as we hum to the babies - golly, we’re in heaven! In case you could not figure out the past Olympians’ full names, here you are: Oscar De La Hoya (boxer), Nadia Comaneci (gymnast), Mark Spitz (swimmer), Florence Griffith Joyner (track medalist), Carl Lewis (track medalist). These talented athletes made for cute puppy names.

Gia & Miso’s Olympians - Week 1

Olympians indeed! Each one entered the world as champions with little to no effort. These Australian Labradoodle puppies are made up of four apricot parti’s and one dark apricot. Can you say BEAUTIFUL! Gia only breaks away from the whelping box for potty, meals, and quick hugs from Ever After. Otherwise, these five have her undivided attention for nursing, cleaning, and keeping them warm. Did you know that puppies are blind, deaf, and unable to defficate and regulate their own body temperatures when first born? Mom’s nudging and their keen sense of smell help them locate Mom when milk bar participation is needed. Truly, every week brings new and exciting moments to keep us in awe. The birth order and weights as well as past Olympian names are listed under the puppy pictures. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday! - 7.21.24

With the ease of a pro, Gia gave birth to five healthy puppies, three boys and two girls. It has been no surprise to any who know Gia that she was and is the easiest dog during pregnancy, whelping, and working alongside. Ever After thoroughly enjoys helping Gia raise her beautiful family. True to a couple where Miso is smaller than Gia, the two produced an adorable variety pack where Orange and Turquoise have presented themselves as much smaller than their other three siblings. We’ll see if the two pull a Big Red scenario in the future.
