Gretel & Tuck’s 6.21.23 Australian Labradoodle Puppies
(Gilligan’s Island Litter)
How blessed these puppies are with the families that adopted them! Ever After had the pleasure of flying Gilligan to Medford, Oregon, where he was greeted by the sweetest of couples. Skipper made six in his loving Wenatchee, Washington, family. Professor’s story had the happiest of endings with being adopted by a young lady who fell in love with him at first sight - injured leg or not. Lastly, Ever After is happy to announce that Mary Ann and Ginger were retained for future breeding prospects. Like the entire litter, both girls had lovely temperaments combined with beautiful coats and excellent scores for conformation. Gretel and Tuck’s puppies did not disappoint!
Weeks 7 & 8
Although longer than a 3-hour tour, our time with these favorite castaways has flown by in the best of ways. They are champs at doggy-door potty training, sleeping in individual kennels, waking with clean bedding, and unmatched with their snuggle-buggle capabilities. With each of their personalities, any one of them would be a great lifelong partner on any deserted island. Congratulations to the families “rescuing” castaways: Skipper, Gilligan, and Professor;) As for Ginger and Mary Ann, look for those two beauties in upcoming breedings with Ever After. After vet appointment with first sets of shots and microchips are completed, the island puppies will be ready for adoption day!
Weeks 5 & 6
This is such a cute age where the outdoors become the main play area. The puppies explore and decide outdoor potty is far superior to the potty-tray life. Summer puppies get to experience pools, mud, soft grass, and Spokane HEAT! If even possible, the tail wagging from the castaway group seems to accelerate with sunshine. Unfortunately, our Professor suffered an injury to his left hip bone. An immediate FHO (femoral head osectomy) surgery was required. Amazingly, Professor was able to put some weight on his affected leg right after surgery! Although now isolated from and unable to wrestle with his litter mates, Ever After takes him down to the basement’s puppyville for litter visits and snuggles. Most of his play time is with Momma Gretel and an Ever After family member in his private play area upstairs. Thankfully, Professor is expected to make a complete recovery and live an active, normal life. The best part - on the way home from Professor’s surgery, Ever After received a phone call from a family that followed up with a visit, fell in love with him, and adopted Professor that very day (they’re waiting for his follow up appointment before taking him home). Our hearts are full knowing Professor was so readily chosen.
Weeks 3 & 4
What a darling group of castaways! Their personalities are so playful and tender. Each tail seems equipped with energizer bunny capabilities. Gretel was thankful her babies could rely on sustenance from an additional source. She’ll be even happier once the teeth really start baring themselves, ha! We typically wait for full baths until puppies are older; but with the way these little ones enjoyed their porridge, first baths became an early necessity. Our Instagram and Facebook include a cute video of the Island group actively enjoying the activities pictured below.
Weeks 1 & 2
We have so much to be thankful for with five healthy puppies born right on their due date. The birth weights are listed and certainly impressive for our Gretel to achieve. As predicted, this litter is a beautiful rainbow of parti puppies (parti meaning white with another color). We have Apricot, Caramel, black parti-tri, sable, and chocolate - gorgeous! Although most often closed in slumber, the puppies have opened their eyes for a little peek of the world (Skipper slept through photo time - ha!). Their eyesight will continue to develop in the weeks ahead. Built strong, these cuties are finding their legs already and managing a faster trek to the milk bar. Gretel deserves a medal as she keeps up with her hungry brood. Can you guess the name-theme of this litter? Would it help if we told you that Gretel and Tuck represent Mr. & Mrs. Thurston Howell III? Sit right back and you’ll hear a tale…
