Millie and Ranger’s 12.22.23 Australian Labradoodle Puppies

(Peace, Love, Joy ‘n Rock & Roll)

Update

Seattle, Washington has a “Peace” of our heart. Peace, who is now Cheddar, was welcomed into a fabulous family. It sounds like there will be a lot of relatives loving on her. Our hearts at Ever After are full.

Adoption Day!

Scheduled for February 24th, adoption days were instead spread around due to varying schedules and special requests. Families were great about understanding that extra days with Ever After not only meant room and board, but round the clock training for puppies with the staff at Ever After. So since our schedules allowed flexibility, it was a pleasure helping to accommodate each family. Although Peace remains in training with Ever After, the pictured siblings are presently in their homes being snuggled by the best of families. Thank you, dear friends of the Spokane and Seattle areas for choosing Ever After puppies!

Weeks 7 & 8

Visitation week is always just as much fun for Ever After as it is for the puppies. Our world may feel upside down sometimes, but meeting with folks to simply play with puppies sure brings back the simple pleasures of life that we all need from time to time. Thank you to all of the families that helped socialize the puppies this week! Mini-grooms between professional groomings for paw pads, nails, eyes, ears, private areas, and baths may be a new reality for you. We give the puppies mini-grooms as needed on a regular basis. Also, be prepared to keep your Australian Labradoodle brushed/combed to prevent painful matting - at least once a week. Check out our RESOURCES page for supply ideas and helpful videos before these precious pups go home.

Weeks 5 & 6

The Valentines’ Day pictures were a hoot. The puppies’ soft silky hair could barely hold onto the fun ribbons; but they “hung” in there;) The adorable group was introduced to new digs with two outdoor play areas: one fenced courtyard under the deck that’s safe from birds of prey, and a second area in the open big yard when Ever After is able to closely monitor the little ones. Their new inside area has plenty of room to romp, and a separate bedroom area for Snuggle and Crate Time. Check out our Training Video on Instagram for closeup shots of the puppy areas being fully utilized. Golly, they are so cute!!

Weeks 3 & 4

The puppies’ pink noses are gradually filling in - black or liver color? What a cute bunch of wrestlers as their legs are starting to provide more stability and speed (just a little speed, ha!). As a help to Mom, puppies were introduced to porridge and water. These five proved to be fairly neat eaters - thank you, thank you, thank you, puppies. However, they are not convinced that Mother’s milk needs to be replaced any time soon. Picture day with sleepy puppies was a workout for the staff of Ever After - you are welcome;) Litter-tray training is proving to be a time of showing off some awfully smart puppies with Millie’s and Gretel’s litters. Lastly, as the little ones get older, socializing and playing with different toys becomes even more important. Here at Ever After, we are on it!

Weeks 1 & 2

What can possibly beat a newborn puppy pile beneath the Christmas tree? But also, their little grunts and silky, soft fur as we cuddle them next to our necks - yummy, yummy! As nose colors come in, it looks like we have a litter of dark chocolates and caramels - so beautiful! As you can see, sleepy eyes started to open and will continue to develop over the next few weeks. The puppies are also abandoning the scoot-on-the-belly method with wobbly legs as their new mode of transportation. Although their birth weights are listed, they are definitely heavier now as the babies keep taking full advantage of Mom’s extra faucets and endless patience. These five even helped Aunt Gretel with her extra milk supply since the four cousins were initially struggling to get the job done. For puppy names, the family decided to take a new year spin on an old saying “Peace (joy) Love and Rock N Roll” as we celebrate the beginning of 2024!

Happy Birthday!

Millie did most of the labor at home with her wonderful guardian mom. Ever After was just getting her settled in the whelping box when Millie decided it was time to push on the evening of 12.22.23 - two days earlier than expected! For her first litter, we were thoroughly impressed with the way she handled everything. Millie’s puppies were born strong - one immediately and sturdily chose to balance in a standing position while nursing, and another (who was still attached to mom) chose to wait no longer for that first taste of colostrum out of Mom’s closest faucet - ha! The puppies were born good-sized - just ask Mom. Great job, Millie!

Millie and Ranger

These two were absolutely giddy about their pairing. They had the most playful, joyful honeymoon of all time. The temperaments of their puppies are bound to please us all. How many puppies do you see - 4 or 5?
